How do I create an account?

Sign up with your email and password or continue with Google from the sign-up page. After you verify your account, complete the short onboarding flow to add your photo, name, location, role, and industry before entering the app.

How do I complete my profile?

Finish onboarding first, then open your profile and choose "Edit profile" (or go to /profile/edit). Add basics, contact details, social links, about text, experience, working style, and match criteria. A complete profile improves Network recommendations and how others find you.

How do I search the app?

Use the search bar in the header or press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows) to open quick search. Jump to Feed, Network, Events, Messages, Launch, Settings, or Signal Search. For full results across people, feed posts, events, and launches, open Search from the results page.

Feed

Share updates and discover what founders are building.

How do I post to the feed?

Open Feed (/ideas), tap "Share your thoughts..." in the composer, or choose Photo to open the create page. Write your update, optionally add images, video, or links, then click Post.

How do I save posts or view my own posts?

Tap the bookmark icon on any post to save it. Saved posts live under Feed library → Saved (/ideas/saved). Your published posts appear under Feed library → My blog (/ideas/my-blog).

How do comments work?

Tap Comments on a post to expand the thread and reply inline. Like and share actions are available on each post as well.

Network

Discover founders and manage your connections.

How does founder matching work?

Network recommends founders based on your profile, match criteria, and activity. Use the For you and Local tabs to explore suggestions, and switch between card and list views on desktop. Update match criteria in Edit profile → Match criteria for better results.

How do I follow or save founders?

Open a founder profile to follow them, send a message, or open the menu (⋯) to bookmark them or turn on Notify online. Network lists → Following and Bookmark keep track of people you care about.

How do I contact someone?

Click Message on a profile or network card to open a conversation in Messages. You can also message someone after finding them in Search or Signal Search.

Events

Discover meetups and host your own events.

How do I find events?

Open Events from the sidebar. Browse tabs like Top, Local, This week, Online, My events, and Following. Switch between card and list views, and filter by format when available.

How do I create an event?

Go to Events and click "Create event" (/events/create). Add the title, schedule, location or virtual link, capacity, and description, then publish when you are ready.

How do RSVPs work?

Open an event page to see details and RSVP. Your response helps the host plan attendance. Event updates and invitations can appear in Notifications.

Launch

Share what you are shipping with the community.

How do I create a launch?

Open Launch from the sidebar and click "Create launch". Add your product name, description, industries, images, and launch date, then save or publish.

Can I schedule a launch?

Yes. Pick a future launch date when creating or editing a launch. It will appear under Scheduled until that date, then move to Published when it goes live.

Messages

Chat with founders and manage your conversations.

How do I start a conversation?

Message someone from their profile, a network card, or search results. Your inbox groups threads under All, Unread, and Requests tabs.

What is the VIP watchlist?

On a profile, open the menu (⋯) and choose "Notify online" to watch someone. They appear under Network → Watchlist, and Notifications shows when they are active. Manage up to 5 people in Settings → VIP watchlist.

Can I search my inbox?

Yes. Use the search field at the top of Messages to find conversations by participant name or words inside past messages.

Profile & settings

Manage your public profile and account preferences.

How do I edit my profile?

Open your profile and click "Edit profile", or go to /profile/edit. Update basic info, contact details, social links, about, experience, working style, and match criteria from the section menu.

How do I manage notifications?

Go to Settings → Notifications to control browser message alerts, email notifications, profile views, comments, connections, feed updates, and VIP online alerts.

AI features

Personalization and AI-powered tools across StartCoLink.

What AI features are available?

StartCoLink uses AI for Network recommendations, daily recommendations, activity insights, AI people search on the Search page, and Signal Search for interest-based discovery. Availability may depend on your account and settings.

How do I use Signal Search?

Choose one or more interest filters such as industries, roles, skills, or feed topics. Optionally narrow results with profile filters like location, work mode, languages, or working style preferences. Results rank by how closely someone's activity signals match your selections.

How do I enable or disable AI tracking?

Go to Settings → AI & personalization and toggle "AI tracking". When enabled, StartCoLink uses activity signals to improve recommendations, Signal Search, daily recommendations, and activity insights. Turning it off also disables dependent personalization options.

How is my data used for AI?

AI features use aggregated in-app activity to improve matching and recommendations. Other members do not see your raw activity. Review Settings → Privacy and Settings → AI & personalization for visibility and tracking controls.
